Sivakarthikeyan's Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam is one of 2013's biggest hits. The film which released on September 6 is celebrating its 100th day today.

The film produced by Escape Artist Motion Pictures was a romcom set in a rural milieu and went on to become a blockbuster, as it did good business throughout Tamil Nadu.

VVS as the film came to be known hit the bulls – eye and made Sivakarthikeyan a very big star. The Ponram directed film appealed to all sections of the audiences as the casting was perfect-Sivakarthikeyan, Sathyaraj, Suri and vibrant new girl Sri Divya.

It had also good music by D Imman, which helped it to reach across to the masses. And Escape Artist Motion Pictures P Madan aggressively marketed it, even before its release. Sivakarthikeyan himself went to all towns in Tamil Nadu promoting the film.
