The fans of Ilayathalapathy Vijay were peeved as Jilla promotional teaser or trailer is yet to be released online. Remember the film is scheduled to release on January 10 for Pongal?

It was earlier reported that the film's teaser/trailer would be released on 25 December as a special Christmas gift for fans, but nothing was revealed, much to their disappointment.

It looks like the makers are planning to release the trailer on the eve of New Year (31 December). According to reports, there wouldn't be any official launch and the teaser/trailer will be uploaded directly on You Tube. The publicity around the film in Tamil Nadu is low key. At the same time there is a Jilla wave in Kerala, where larger than life cut-outs of Mohanlal and Vijay dominate the landscape.

As per sources Mohanlal who is distributing the film in Kerala has booked a record 175 screens for its release on January 10.

Directed by RT Nesan, "Jilla" is deemed as a commercial entertainer set in the backdrop of a village.

Besides Vijay, "Jilla" has Kajal Aggarwal, Mohanlal, Poornima Bhagyaraj and Mahat Raghavendra in pivotal roles. The other cast members include Soori, Sampath Raj, Nivedha Thomas and Brahmanandam.

"Jilla" is gearing up for a massive release in January 2014, though the exact release date is yet to be announced. Buzz is that the film is likely to hit screens on 10 January.

It is carrying positive pre-release buzz in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, thanks to Vijay and Mohanlal's star power as well as the film's songs, which have turned out to be big hits.

Recently, "Jilla" audio was launched in a quite event in Chennai. The album, composed by Imman, has eight tracks including five songs, one theme song and two karaoke tracks. Read Jilla Audio Songs Review here.

The film has been extensively shot in places such as Chennai, Madurai, Hyderabad and Japan. The pre-release business of "Jilla" has been really good and the film's distribution rights have been sold for all the areas. Director Nesan told Behindwoods that the theatrical business of Jilla was done within a day which has soared the expectations of the viewers.

The shooting of "Jilla" has been completed and the post-production work is going on in full swing. The film's first copy is expected to be ready by December end and the censor formalities are likely to be completed by the first week of January.

"Jilla" is heading for a big clash with Ajith's "Veeram", which is releasing on 10 January.
