The biggest banner in Bollywood Yash Raj Films (YRF) is foraying into Kollywood with a straight Tamil film. They are remaking their successful Band Baaja Baarat into Tamil as Aaha Kalyanam.

Aaha Kalyanam is a romantic comedy about wedding planners directed by Gokul, a former associate of Vishnuvardhan. The film has Nani of Eega fame and Vani Gupta in the lead with Dharan's music. The film is targeted at youth audiences. Aaha Kalyanam first look will be unveiled today (Dec 20), as trailer of the film will be attached with YRF's Dhoom 3.

Keeping in sync with the title, the team of Aaha Kalyanam has shot more than 23 wedding sequences for the film. A source from the production house tells us, "The film is a love story, and the lead characters play wedding planners. There were several wedding sequences in the Hindi version, but the team wanted to highlight the various rituals and cultures in south Indian weddings. So, they shot as many as 23 wedding sequences for the film — in the form of montages and elaborate sequences." We hear the team is planning to launch a single track (composed by Dharan) from the film, both in Tamil and Telugu, on December 26. The movie is slotted to release on Feb 7th.
