After the overwhelming response from the public to the digitally restored version of the Tamil classic Karnan, which was re-released last year, Divya Films Managing Partner Chockalingam is now all set to re-release another classic.

"We are to re-release the digital version of yesteryear blockbuster Aayirathil Oruvan, starring former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M G Ramachandran and present Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the lead. We intend to release the digital version of the film in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala simulataneously in the first week of February. In Tamil Nadu alone, we intend to release it on a 100 screens."

What is significant about this effort is that Chockalingam is planning to have an audio launch for the film. If he does that, then it will be for the first time that an audio launch function would have been held for a digitally restored film which is being re-released.

Confirming that there will be an audio launch, Chockalingam says," We have organised an audio launch event on January 10 at Sathyam Cinemas."

Looks like history is about to be made on January 10!
