Catherine Tresa, who is set to play Karthi's heroine in Attakathi director Ranjith's upcoming Tamil film will be essaying the role as typical Chennai girl.

Sources close to the film's unit says, "Catherine Tresa will play Vada Chennai girl [area Ponnu], who is also a feminist in Karthi's film, whereas Karthi will be seen as a local guy hailing from North Madras."

"Director Ranjith is also the slan tutor for Karthi and Catherine during the shoot. Catherine is a kind of Feminist in the movie and has been working hard to fit the role apparently delivering all her dialogues in the local slang," they added.

KE Gnanavelraja producing untitled Karthi starrer is the story about a local guy in North Madras being shot extensively in those areas.
