Mysskin to act in 'Kallappadam'
From the stables of director Mysskin, comes one more director in the name of Vadivel who is making his directorial debut in Kallappadam (not to be confused with Kalappadam).

Kallappadam is about how a team of director, cameraman, music director and editor join together to make their first film. Interestingly, there is no hero as such in the film but Vadivel, Sriram Santosh, K and Gaugin have reprised their real life roles as director, cinematographer, music director and editor respectively in the film too. Lakshmi Priya plays the female lead in Kallappadam.

In an exclusive chat with us, the first time director shares some interesting information about his film. “Through Kallappadam, I have talked about our traditional art form 'Koothu' and have requested that the space for such diminishing art forms be given. Please don't think this is an art film, it will be a jolly good entertainer”, the director chuckles.

Another special aspect about the film is that Mysskin has penned and sung a song titled 'Vellakkaara Rani'. Vadivel also adds that all efforts are on to cast Mysskin in a significant role in the film and is quite hopeful of fruition of his attempts.

Music has been scored by K and there are five songs in the film. Apart from the Mysskin number, other songs are written by Mani Amudavan of Golisoda fame. K, Anand Pandian and a ‘Koothu’ team from Krishnagiri have sung the other numbers.

Currently in the post production phase, Kallappadam will be ready for a release in March or April, 2014.
