Ghajini director AR Murugadoss has stated that Tota Roy Chowdhry is not the main villain of his upcoming film starring Vijay and Samantha, as is being widely reported. The Bengali actor went to town recently stating that he was the antagonist and that he had shot extensively for the role in Kolkata. He also opened a can of worms by almost completely revealing the film’s storyline, which apparently irked its makers.

When we contacted Murugadoss, he said, “Tota is not the main villain; we are still on the look-out for a person who would fit the antagonist’s role. As we shot in Kolkata for a few days, we wanted a person who could film for a few chase sequences there and so, roped in Tota, a Bengali actor.”

What about the film’s storyline, which Tota has explicitly revealed? “We’re not perturbed about it, as that is not the actual story. The storyline is very different,” added the filmmaker, who is currently shooting in Rajahmundry.
