Director Youreka who earlier directed Madhurai Sambavam and Sivappu Enakku Pidikkum, is back with a different subject. He is now making a film titled Thoppi, a thriller about a thief who aspires to be a cop!

The film stars Mural Ram, GM Kumar and Rakshaya in the lead and is shot in the exotic locales of Kurangani forest in Theni. The film is about the aspirations of a youngster who want to become a cop against adverse conditions. M Sukumar of ‘Mynaa’ fame is the cameraman.

Yourekha says : " The film features an unusual ritual called 'valladai', where thieves in rural villages used to perform this before attempting any theft. An interesting love story has been woven against this backdrop."

Thoppi produced by Royal Screen is slated for release mid June.
