It all started when Amala Paul signed for AL Vijay’s 2011 Tamil film Deiva Thirumagal. After getting snapped couple of times at random places, the duo started to make public appearances together. Later the director smitten by the lovely lass roped her for the leading lady’s role in Thalaiva. It was in the sets of Thalaiva that the love story really blossomed.
Marriage confirmation
The rumours of Amala Paul marrying director Vijay had been doing rounds in gossip circles since December 2013. But speculations were confirmed only in April 2014, when the media had gone gaga over the starlets wedding news. On May 26, the duo officially came out in front of media and announced the wedding date as June 12, 2014.
Speculations on Amala Paul’s career
As soon as the confirmed news of marriage came in, the gossip mongers have been heatedly debating if the hottie will take an early exit from the films. Her Vellai Illa Pathathari co-star comedian Vivekh had stated on Twitter that Amala would continue to entertain the audience even after her wedding. But the rumours were unwilling to die down on the fate of Amala Paul’s acting career. The Malayali stunner was reportedly dumped from Telugu film Vastha Nee Venuka as the producers were miffed about Amala keeping her marriage plans a secret. Amala Paul later made it clear that she would like to concentrate on her real life hero AL Vijay instead of romancing reel life heroes.
Star studded guest list revealed
As both the bride and bridegroom are from cine field, it is but obvious that the wedding will be a starry affair. About a month ago, the star studded guest list of Amala Paul- AL Vijay’s wedding was revealed. Since Amala is active in three regional industries, celebs from Kollywood, Tollywood and Mollywood are expected to grace the occasion. The guest list includes names like Ajith, Vijay, Vikram, Anushka Shetty, Fahadh Fazil-Nazriya Nazim, GV Prakash, Mahesh Babu, Naga Chaitanya, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan Teja, Arya,Rajinikath, Kamal Haasan and many more.
No gifts only charity
Taking a leaf out of singer Chinamayi’s wedding, the star couple had requested all the guest to refrain from bringing gifts, not even flowers. The duo to be united in holy matrimony had asked the guest to donate to charity. The charity will be donated to Ability Foundation.
A church engagement
Amala Paul dressed in white gown designed by Sabyasachi exchanged rings with director Vijay in a small church at Kochi on June 7. The sangeet ceremony was held on the eve of the engagement was attended by stars like Vikram, Anushka and music director GV Prakash. The starlet is quite active on Facebook and shared her excitement with her fans. Amala had recently posted pictures of her engagement, sangeet and mehendi ceremony on Facebook.
