Kamal sustains injury on Uttama Villain set

Actor Kamal Haasan seems to have sustained an injury while shooting for director Ramesh Arvind’s Uttama Villain in the city. The actor, who, despite his injury, chose to participate in an awards ceremony held recently, was spotted limping on the stage.

In fact, sources say the actor waited patiently for an hour backstage before walking onto the dias. Kamal is believed to have asked for a pain relieving cream to apply on his leg while waiting to make an appearance at the event.

A source in the know says, “He sprained his leg on Saturday while shooting for the film. He went to the hospital from the set and consulted the doctor and then straightaway headed to the award function as he had already committed to being a part of it. Though the actor has been asked to take rest, he will resume shooting for Uttama Villain soon.”

However, director Ramesh Aravind maintains, “Kamal did not sustain the injury during a stunt or an action scene. He had a small muscle pull and has been advised a day’s rest.”

Meanwhile, Kamal also announced that his next release will be Uttama Villain and not Vishwaroopam 2 as many had until now believed. “Vishwaroopam 2 involves a lot of CG work and though we have already started work on it, it will take a little more time,” Kamal said.
