Gitanjali wife of ace director Selvaraghavan is debuting as director with Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam (MNM). MNM will have a script written by Selvaraghavan.

Gitanjali Selvaraghavan herself announced it to the world through Twitter – "Day 7 of shoot for my directorial debut #maalainerathumayakkam it’s been a super exciting and eventful week for me! Thank you @selvaraghavan for giving me such a beautiful script to work with. But more importantly for all your love and encouragement."

Selvaraghavan, she said will be taking a break and has decided to stay back and spend time with kids. Geetanjali tweeted: "Like all of you I am also eagerly awaiting the next @selvaraghavan film, but he has decided to step back a bit and spend time with our kids. I have to respect @selvaraghavan the father's decision. But as a fan I hope he changes his mind soon and comes back with something explosive!"

Adds Gitanjali: “It’s an old script of selvas. One that I really like! Having a great time working with my DOP and friend Sridhar Dop all of us here including the cast are first timers. Hope we do justice to the script!”
