Superstar Rajinikanth has reportedly completed 39 years in the Indian film Industry with 170 films to his credits. The actor who ruled Kollywood for three decades debuted with 'Aboorva Ragangal', which was released on 18th of August in 1975.

The actor who was born and raised in Bangalore has equally entertained the pan-Indian cinema lovers through his Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam,English, Bengali and Kannada films throughout his career.

During the past 39 years [1975-2014], Indian film industry has seen many stars making and breaking their career, but Rajinikanth has emerged as one and only superstar for India from North to South, though we have many superstars for each film industry in India.

Rajinikanth the Thalaiva is the only Indian actor who has been playing the various different lead roles from the days of Black & White to the Eastman color, the digital and the animated form - motion capture technology.

Not only this, Superstar has many such credits to his name and one among them is the highest grossed Tamil cinema till date, Rajinikanth's Endhiran directed by Shankar.

After his Kochadaiiyaan released in six different languages all over the world, Rajinikanth's Lingaa is slated for December 12 release, on Superstar's Birthday.
