Sundar C's Aranmanai was originally planned as a small budget movie. But when the star cast included big names like Hansika and Santhanam, the movie has turned out to be one of the biggies and most anticipated movies of the season.

After Yaamirukey Bayamey, horror comedies are the flavor of the season and Aranmanai is trying to cash in on that trend. Red Giant Movies and Sri Thenandaal Movies are promoting the movie well.

Aranmanai is set to release in more than 300 screens in Tamil Nadu on Friday Sep 19th. Many big single screens and the multiplexes in Chennai and Chengalpattu multiplexes have allocated their prime screens to Aranmanai.

Actor-filmmaker Sundar C says it was challenging to direct three "popular heroines" as he had to ensure that all their characters were well-justified.

"All three of them are popular heroines with large fanbase. I had to make sure their characters were important and they all had equal screen presence. It was a challenge to direct them but I somehow managed to do pull it off," Sundar told IANS.

Popular for his comedy entertainers such as "Kalakalappu" and "Theeya Vela Seiyyanum Kumaru", this is Sundar's first attempt at the horror genre.

"The fact that this is my first horror film makes 'Aranmanai' special. Comedy is my strength and you will find it in this film too but only at regular intervals," he said.

Sundar also plays an important role in "Aranmanai", which features an ensemble cast of Vinay Rai, Santhanam, Kovai Sarla, Manobala, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Chitra Lakshmanan and Nithin Sathya.

Sundar C knows the pulse of the audience and always keep the entertainment elements including humor in right proportions and the trade is hoping Aranmanai will hit the Bull's eye at the Box office.
