Dhanush's upcoming movie is 'Anegan', directed by KV Anand and it just recently wrapped up the shoot and went into post production.

The young actor's film after 'Anegan' is to be directed by Vetri Maaran. We all know that this combo means success, just like 'Polladavan' and 'Aadukalam'.

The film has been tentatively named 'Soodhadi' and as the title suggests this film will be intensely focused on gamblers and their lives. The ace director will also be doing a film with Dinesh of Attakathi fame. Sources say that the director will simultaneously work on both projects in the upcoming months.

Director Vetrimaaran says, "Soodhadi with Dhanush is currently on. I am also doing a film with Dinesh. I am yet to decide on the shooting schedules of both the films."

A source says, "The director has plans to shoot the film with Dinesh in between his schedules of Soodhadi."

Interestingly, Meenakshi of Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar is making a comeback after a long gap. She will play Parthiban’s ladylove in the film.

Confirming the news, she said, ‘I will be in Chennai to shoot for some sequences’.

We saw her in films like 'Karuppusamy Kuthagaikaarar' and 'Mandhira Punnagai'. And now, after ages, she is coming back in Vetri Maaran's 'Soodhadi' which stars Dhanush and Lakshmi Menon, and Meenakshi will be pairing Parthepan who plays a led supporting role in this venture.

“Vetri Maaran sir came and met me in Mumbai to talk about the film. He said the film revolves around the subject of gambling, and he wanted to cast me as Parthepan's pair because the role demanded an actress who looked pretty and innocent and can make audiences believe that she can take a man away from his gambling ways. I'm yet to sign the agreement, but Vetri Maaran has informed me that I'll have to come to Chennai in October to shoot my portions.“

Sources also say that this actress will be dancing an item number in Vikram's Prabhu's next film titled 'Velaikkara Durai' directed by Ezhil.

Soodhadi mainly deals about gambling and Parthiepan plays a hot shot gambler in the film. Though Dhanush's character is yet to be revealed, the film's main theme deals with gambling. Soodhadi's initial shooting has already commenced and the full fledged shooting will kick start by next month.

Now in yet another development, reliable sources close to the team have revealed that the lucky charm of Tamil cinema, Lakshmi Menon will play the female lead of the movie opposite Dhanush. However the paper works haven't been completed yet, we hear.

The word is that the actress fits the given role perfectly and is excited to begin her work alongside Dhanush.

Meanwhile, Velraj will do his duty behind the lens for this project and Dhanush will bankroll the movie under Wunderbar Films.
