Jiiva was recently seen in Ravi K Chandran's directorial debut Yaan which did not do good business. He is said to have finalized his next film to be directed by Ramnath.

It’s been a long time, we saw Jiiva as a local boy on the screens letting us entertained by his funny goof ups as in Siva Manasula Sakthi. The latest news is that Jiiva has been approached by director Ramnath for a feel-good romantic comedy caper.

This film is said to be a complete entertainer and the shoot will commence from the first week of December. The duo had earlier come together for the 2006-film E. Jiiva had made a cameo in Boss Engira Baskaran, where he played Nayan’s prospective groom.

A source says, “When the director narrated the script to Jiiva, he liked it a lot. The film will be on the lines of his earlier films like Siva Manasula Sakthi. He will be playing an out-and-out ‘local’, which has so far worked out well for him. The team has been checking out locations in Kumbakonam and Thanjavur for the shoot. Jiiva will start shooting the film in December. While Nayanthara has agreed to work on this film, she is yet to officially sign on the dotted line.”
