After the stupendous success of Kaththi directed by A R Murugadoss, Vijay is donning the lead role in a film which is being directed by Chimbudevan.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 58th film has hit the floors during the last week. The untitled movie has kick-started with a grand song shoot at ECR, Chennai. As reported earlier, veteran actress Sridevi and Hansika who play Mother and daughter in the movie, respectively are also part of the initial schedule of Vijay 58.

Sathuranga Vettai hero Nataraj is handling the camera. Devi Sriprasad is composing the music. The shooting of the film began recently. A song sequence is being shot now.

Nearly after 28 years Sridevi has come back to act in a Tamil film. She had tweeted, "In Chennai shooting for a new Tamil film. It brings back so many memories of first day of shoot as a child actor. Thank you Chennai for all the love n warmth you have always given me. It feels great to be back. Working with today’s generation of actors & technicians who are totally professional & focused is inspiration 4 me. So much to learn from them."

Shruthi Haasan is expected to join Vijay 58 unit from today. Sudeep, Prabhu are also part of Vijay 58 cast.
