Five new Tamil films have hit the big screens on the Christmas day [Dec 25] in Kollywood. X-mas has been the new festive season for releasing new Tamil films namey : Kayal, Kappal, Meaghamann, Vellakara Durai and Endrume Anandham.

Arya-Hansika starred Meaghamann directed by Magizh Thirumeni is the action drama movie produced by Nemichan Jhabak Company with SS Thaman's music.

Ezhil directed Vellaikaara Durai is the romantic comedy film in a semi-village milieu featuring Vikram Prabhu and Sri Divya in the lead roles. Produced by GN Anbu Chezhiyan's Olympia Movies banner, Vellaikaara Durai music is by D Imman.

Director Shankar presents Kappal is directed by his protege Karthik G Krish starring Vaibhav and Sonam Bajwa in the lead roles. Natarajan Sankaran is the music director.

Prabhu Solomon' Kayal, a love story in Tsunami backdrop is slated also slated for Christmas release. Madhan of Escape Artist Motion Pictures has produced the movie with debutante stars in the cast.

Vellaikaara Durai, Kappal and Kayal got clean chit from censor board, whereas Meaghamann is awarded U/A by the censor board for action sequences.
