Ilaiyaraaja visits Bala's 'Tharai Thappattai' sets

Isaignani Ilayaraja visited director Bala's 'Thaarai Thappatai' shooting location at a specially erected colony set near a lake in Tanjore. He was given a warm welcome by Bala and his team.

The shooting of the film is taking place in Karanthai near Thanjavur for the last one month. Ilayaraja had been to the shooting spot. Bala is directing the film Tharai Thappattai. This film has Sasikumar and Varalakshmi in the lead roles. Tharai Thappattai is the 1000th film of Ilayaraja. When he came to the shooting spot he was welcomed with Mangala Music.

Ilayaraja speaking on this occasion said, "I came to the shooting spot because Bala requested me. This film is a very challenging one for Bala. He is making this film with lots of dedication and efforts."

Then Ilayaraja enjoyed the cultural dance performed by local folk artists. Director Bala and Haridwaramangalam A. K. Palanivel who is a Indian drum thavil exponent were present.

Sasikumar while speaking said, "I was working as an assistant to Bala in the film Sethu. The shooting of the film took in the same place. That time I learnt how to direct a film. Now I am very happy because I am acting in his film. Of all the films I have acted, this will be a different one. I will be again directing films by end of this year."

Varalakshmi while speaking said, "This is my fourth film. I am donning the role of a village girl for the first time. This gave me a difference experience. This film is about dance. I have so far danced for western music. I am very happy that I am donning the role of a Karagattam dancer."
