We have earlier reported that director Anbu Rajashekar has filed a case against Puli in the Thanjavur Court asking for a stay on the release.

It is said that during the release of Kaththi, Rajashekar filed a case alleging that the script is copied from his work. The case is still pending, so he has filed a case against Puli seeking a settlement. The latest is that the Court has adjourned the case to Oct 7, which mean Puli will now release on Oct 1 without any hassle.

Directed by Chimbu Devan, the film's ensemble star cast includes Vijay, Sudeep, Sridevi, Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani.
