It is understood that Vedhalam which has Ajith in the lead role is made on the lines of Basha. Siruthai Siva is directing the film.

A M Rathinam is producing the film which has Ajith, Shruthi Haasan, Lakshmi Menon, Rahul Dev, Kabir Singh and Vidyullekha in the cast, Anirudh is composing the music.

The film’s first half post-production works are over and the second half post-production which is going on in rapid pace will be completed in a short span of time. Recently the title and the first look poster of the film were released on online. It has been decided to release the audio CD of the film on 16th October.

At this juncture there is news that the story of the film is connected with supernatural and Ajith is donning the role of a ghost. In truth, this is not a ghost film. It is an entertainer which has all the commercial ingredients.

The story of the film has the shades of Basha. Ajith is donning the role called Ganesh. He is living with his sister Tamizh (Lakshmi Menon) in Kolkata. When the villains see him they are shocked to see Vedhalam there.

In the flashback Ajith dons the role of Vedhalam an underground don who smashes all the villains and decides to quit this underworld life. So in order to hide himself he leaves for Kolkata where he lives normal life. The villains come to know about this and what happens next is the rest of the story.

In the film Basha, Rajini dons the role of a auto driver while in Vedhalam Ajith dons the role of a call taxi driver. Soori dons the role of call taxis owner. Shruthi Haasan dons the role of an advocate. Lollu Sabha Swaminathan and Bala Saravanan don the role of Shruthi Haasan’s friends. Thambi Ramaiah dons the role of Ajith’s father. Appukutty essays the role of Ajith’s friend.
