Police issues summon to Simbu, Anirudh

The Coimbatore police today issued summons to actor Simbu and music composer Anirudh, asking the duo to appear before them on December 19, in connection with a complaint against ‘Beep Song’.

This follows a complaint from members of All-India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), Coimbatore Chapter, who alleged that the song insulted women. They also conducted protests in the industrial city, it may be noted.

Meanwhile, two more complaints were filed in Chennai today against Simbu and Anirudh for the song, which starts with the words ‘Enna P***ku Love Panra’.

While Simbu had earlier said in a statement that it was his private property and someone had leaked it, Anirudh issued a statement on Sunday and distanced himself from the controversial number, saying he was no way involved in it.
