Hiphop Tamizha turns director for a film on Jallikattu

While there is speculation that Hip Hop Tamizha is starring in a feature film, we learn that the hip hop artiste and music director has actually shot for a short film-cum-music video that talks about jallikattu.

Even as making waves as music composer, Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi has directed a short film. The nine-minute film and music video talks about Jallikattu, the traditional bull taming sport of Tamil Nadu.

“It is an attempt to explain the science behind the conduct of the event. I have tried to drive home the point that banning the sport is wrong. It however has a fictional plot,” says the composer.

The visuals were shot in villages in the south of Tamil Nadu and Aadhi took time off from his busy schedule to shoot the short film. “I am planning to release it soon,” he adds.

While he had hoped to release the video on Tamil New Year, he says that the editing work is still going on, and that he now plans to release it online in May. As for the rumours around his acting debut on the big screen, he says that since he has committed as a music director for a handful of projects, that will have to wait at least until the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the music director is busy with a string of movies in Kollywood. Much recently, he was signed up by cinematographer-director K V Anand for his upcoming venture starring Vijay Sethupathi and T Rajendhar in lead roles.
