Nadigar Sangam General Secretary actor Vishal on Wednesday evening dismissed rumours of rift between ‘Thala’ Ajith and him, terming them as ‘baseless’ while addressing a press conference.

South Indian Artistes Association (Nadigar Sangam) general secretary Vishal today said he did not speak ill of Ajith for his alleged comments against the star cricket organised by the association recently.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he said, “I don’t have any dispute with Ajith. I know him for a long time. We respect his opinion and everybody has his/her own right to express their views.”

“I don’t think Ajith needs to explain his reason for absence at the event. Everything is fine between Ajith and me and I respect him immensely. If I have to stop a song from playing, I will stop playing my own song”, said Vishal

Vishal and other office-bearers of the Sangam expressed gratitude to those who supported the star cricket event. When asked about Simbu’s decision to quit the association, Vishal said, “this is not an entertainment club to quit if the services are not good.”

Vishal further said that the intention of the association is to help all actors and it is not to hurt anyone. He also said work to construct new building for the Sangam would begin soon.
