Vishal stopped Ajith‘s song at star cricket after match party

Here comes yet another controversy over Nadigar Sangam’s star cricket. Even Rajinikanth, who was until recently, beating the scorching Delhi heat shooting for Shankar's 2.0 took time off to be present.

On Sunday night, after the match was over, a party was held at a popular star hotel in the city and everyone was dancing in high spirits to songs played by the DJ. The DJ was only too happy to oblige, and started playing hit Tamil songs. It was at that time Ajith‘s ‘Adharu…Adhaaru…’ from ‘Yennai Arindhal’ started blaring on speakers. According to sources, Vishal, the Nadigar Sangam general secretary, and actor Soundararaja (who played negative role in ‘Sundarapandian’), went to the DJ and asked him stop the song immediately. Vishal repeatedly kept asking the DJ to stop it, till the DJ finally agreed and started playing English songs. “They came back to the floor only after the number was stopped,” sources added.

This comes in the backdrop of Ajith reportedly not extending his support to the star cricket event and did not attend the tournament in Chennai on Sunday.

While it is quite a usual thing for people to request DJ to play a song of their choice, this particular incident takes on added significance. One may recall, there were reports that actor Ajith had indicated his displeasure at asking the public to pay for the Sangam's new building. Ajith was of the opinion that stars themselves should get together as a team, and provide the required funds rather than depend on contributions. While sources quickly clarified that Ajith never made this statement, looks like Vishal's taken it to heart.

It is also learnt that many actors and actresses, including those who claim themselves as ‘thala’ fans, were present when Vishal asked the DJ to stop Ajith song, but none of them raised their voice. Looks like they use Ajith's name only to play to the gallery and also, gain the approval of his massive fan base!
