Director AR Murugadoss last movie with Superstar 'Darbar' released earlier this year for Pongal didn't go well among audience and become a Box-office failure.

Now we hear the director is producing a web series to be directed by one of Murugadoss' erstwhile assistant director. Yes, Murugadoss is venturing into the OTT arena and he has announced a web series starring Oh My Kadavule star Vani Bhojan in it.

Interestingly, this is not the first time he's producing a film by his assistant. Muragadoss' first production venture was his assistant M Saravanan's super hit film 'Engeyum Eppodhum' which also marked the director's Tamil debut. Murugadoss later also co-produced Thuppakki's associate director Rajkumar Periasamy debut venture, the Gautham Karthik starrer 'Rangoon'. Vani Bhojan's latest release, Oh My Kadavule, is also directed by Muragadoss' another erstwhile director Ashwath Marimuthu. But this doesn’t mean AR Murugadoss is retiring from mainstream movies. He is caught up scripting his next which will be a sequel to his 2012 blockbuster Thupakki.
The web-series, which will release in Hotstar, has already entered production. The series, which went on floors at the end of last year had to stop shooting because of the COVID-19 lockdown. An official confirmation is expected after the lockdown is revoked with the cast and crew details.
