'Rishi Kapoor' no more, dies at 67
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who has had a glorious career in the world of Hindi cinema spanning over four decades, passed away at a Mumbai hospital on Thursday morning. He was 67.

The actor, who had charmed his way into millions of hearts with his scintillating debut in 1973's 'Bobby', had been ailing for a while. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2018, he underwent treatment in New York for almost a year. In September 2019, he returned to India but was rarely seen in public since.

Movie industry have been in shock since news of veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor’s demise broke this morning. While condolence messages have been pouring in, many stars have also taken to their social media handles to share their memories of the actor, who had been active in the industry for over four decades.

Superstar Rajinikanth, who is a good friend of Rishi Kapoor and has acted with him in the movie Dosti Dushmani expressed his condolence message on Twitter, as he tweeted "Heartbroken ... Rest In Peace ... my dearest friend #RishiKapoor".


Kamal Haasan, who acted with Rishi Kapoor in the 1985 Bollywood movie Saagar directed by Ramesh Sippy has expressed his heartfelt condolence.


Among the south actresses who’ve starred with Rishi Kapoor is Bhanupriya. She made her Bollywood debut with Dosti Dushmani. The film, directed by Tatineni Rama Rao, starred Rajinikanth, Jeetendra and Rishi Kapoor in the lead. While Bhanupriya had paired opposite Jeetendra in the film, she had quite a few scenes with Rishi Kapoor as well.

Ask the versatile actress says, “We worked together in the film Dosti Dushmani, but we had few combination scenes. However, I’d seen his work and I knew he was a very good actor. But more than that, he was a wonderful human being. He was jovial. Ellarodayum romba sagajama pazhaguvar. I shot most of my scenes in Chennai at AVM Studios, and Rajini, Jeetendra and he were also there. It’s been over 30 years since I did that film with him. But I still remember what a friendly person he was. He was battling cancer, and I pray his soul rests in peace now.”
