Vignarajan's 'Andhaghaaram' heading for direct OTT release?

Debutant director Vignarajan's Andhaghaaram, which has been lying on the shelves for a couple of years now, has got a new lease of life from director Atlee.

Director Atlee, who made his production debut with Jiiva’s 'Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae' in 2017 under his home banner A for Apple, announced a few days back about his sophomore project, Andhaghaaram. It was said Atlee's production house will be releasing the film once the coronavirus lockdown is lifted.

Director Vignarajan said, "Andhaghaaram means intense darkness. The film is an edge-of-the-seat supernatural thriller with a unique screenplay. We have already completed shooting the film and it's ready for release."

Now, we have learned from reliable sources that the makers are in talks with Amazon Prime Video and a few other OTT platforms for a direct release before the lockdown ends.

Recently, the makers released the film's trailer, which received rave reviews from the audience. Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj watched the film and heaped praises for it. He took to Twitter to congratulate the entire team and called the film 'a winner'.

Andhaghaaram is directed by debutant filmmaker V Vignarajan and stars Arjun Das, Vinoth Kishan, Pooja Ramachandran, Kumar Natarajan and Misha Ghoshal in important roles.
