The last few days the Tamil film industry is in a tussle after Suriya decided to release 'Ponmagal Vandhal' from his production house, 2D Entertainment, starring Jyothika on Amazon Prime Video bypassing theatrical release.

Theater owners raised red flag and are threatening to ban the big star's other films but his 2D Entertainment banner is firm on releasing the film in May 1st week.

Meantime another buzz started doing the rounds in the tinsel town that Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi starrer 'Master' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj will also be releasing directly on Amazon Prime. When we got in touch with sources close to the team they rubbished the reports stating that "Master will release only in theaters post the corona issues are sorted out. Only after the theaterical release, it will come in OTT. Our sources inform, the production team has given assurance to all the distributors of Master."

Master was slated to hit the marquee in the first week of April. However, due to the lockdown, the makers of the film forced to postpone the release of Master. According to reports, the movie will release in June 2020. However, only time will tell when we are going to return to normacy.

Master, starring Thalapthy Vijay, Malavika Mohanan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Andreah Jeremiah in the lead, was earlier slated to hit the marquee on April 9, 2020. The movie pre-dominantly shot in Chennai and the areas surrounding the city will mark the first association of Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi. The movie is bankrolled by XB Film Creators and directed by Kaithi fame Lokesh Kanagaraj. Recently, the makers of Master organised an audio launch event in Chennai. The music launch event that was a private event grabbed all the eyeballs for Thalapthy Vijay's inspiring speech.
