One of the finest creation from actor director K Bhagyaraj, 'Mundhanai Mudichu', is an everygreen classical directed, written by K Bhagyaraj and acted himself in the lead role. The film also marked actress Urvashi's debut, who paired with Bhagyaraj in the movie.

The film was released in 1983 and become a Silver Jubliee blockbuster hit and now 37 years later, K Bhagyaraj has decided to remake the film. Sasikumar will be playing Bhagyaraj's role in the film, Urvashi role is yet to be confirmed. To be directed by K. Bhagyaraj JSB Sathish of JSB movie productions is bankrolling this remake.

Earlier the director wanted to remake the film with his son Santhanu in the lead role, now it seems he dropped that idea.

Sasikumar was last seen on 'Naadodigal 2', which was directed by Samuthirakani, was released in January, and the film received mixed reviews from the audience. Sasikumar has signed five films currently and the shootings are suspended due to the pandemic.
