Karthik Subbaraj's Penguin gets direct OTT release on Amazon Prime

Karthik Subbaraj production venture 'Penguin', which have Keerthy Suresh in the lead role wrapped up the shoot and waiting for release after post-production work. According to reports, the film is expected to release in OTT directly. However, an official confirmation is awaited.

Touted to be a thriller, ‘Penguin’ is directed by debutant Eashwar Karthic stars Keerthy playing a pregnant woman in the movie and produced by Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Productions. It has music by Santosh Narayanan and cinematography by Kharthik Palani, while Anil Krish has handled the cuts.

Now, it looks like the film might get a digital rather than a theatrical release. According to reports, the film is expected to release in the streaming platform - Amazon Prime. The movie is expected to start streaming from June this year. However, an official confirmation is awaited.

Notably, it was recently said that Jyotika’s Ponmagal Vandhal would also get a release on Amazon Prime from May first week. The decision was met with outrage from theatre owners. But we still haven't witness it on Amazon Prime.

Meanwhile, Keerthy has a number of projects in the pipeline. Actress Keerthy Suresh was last seen playing a cameo in the 2019 movie 'Manmadhudu 2'. The National-award winning actor will be part of Rajinikanth-Siva’s Annathe, and she also has the Telugu films, Miss India and Rang De, in her kitty.
