Karthi's upcoming film 'Sulthan' supposed to release during this summer got delayed due to COVID-19. Today being Karthi's birthday, his fans are eagerly waiting to get some updates of his upcoming film 'Sultan', but we hear some bad news for Karthi fans.

Sulthan stars Karthi and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. Interestingly, the film marks the Kannada actress's debut in Tamil. The film is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, who had earlier directed Sivakarthikeyan's Remo.

During the first phase of lockdown, the film's producer SR Prabhu posted, "#CoronaOutbreak is delaying everything including #Sulthan Update! Let’s keep calm and be safe!! 👑." in his social network page.

Since the Kaithi actor is celebrating his birthday today, fans are eagerly waiting to see first look poster from his upcoming film 'Sulthan', but we hear from Sultan team, that they have decided not to release the first look poster due to current pandemic situation. Similar reason Boney Kapoor did not release the first look of Ajith's 'Valimai'.

Produced by SR Prabhu's Dream Warrior Pictures, Vivek-Mervin duo is composing the music for the film and Sathyan Sooryan is cranking the camera.

Karthi's last release was Thambi with Jyothika, which was well appreciated by the audience. Besides Sulthan, Karthi also has Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, an untitled film with Mithran and Muthaiah in the pipeline.
