It is been two decades now, it still remains one of Rajinikanth's most popular films and has high recall value among Tamil audiences. It also gave us a unsurpassed lady villain Neelambari played by Ramya Krishnan.

It's well known that Rajinikanth's Arunachala Cine Creations had bankrolled Padayappa, and so they were mighty upset by this new development. They haven't given the OTT rights to anyone but later found out that another player indirectly sold it to Amazon Prime. Now, the producers have solved the issue and the film is no longer available on the platform. When verified the movie is available in other regions (but not in India).

Sources say that if Arunachala Cine Creations get the right deal, the film will go live once again on the platform. Directed by KS Ravikumar, Padayappa features Soundarya, Ramya Krishnan, Abbas, Lakshmi, and Senthil in the lead.
