Santhanam’s comedy-drama Server Sundaram in which he plays a chef was completed long back but the film has been lying in cans due to some financial problems involving its producer. The movie has been delayed for last three years.
It was announced that the film would hit the screens this Republic day but later it was pushed since Santhanam's Dagaalty too was scheduled for release on the same date, then said to be releasing on February 21st didn't make it's way to theaters.


We heard few weeks ago we heard Server Sundaram is planning for a direct OTT release. The film's director Anand Balki took to his Twitter account to ask for people's opinion.

But, now that he has confirmed that the film will release in theatres, fans are an excited lot. The film’s director Anand Balki confirmed the same with a post on his micro-blogging page. He wrote, “Don’t know whether tamil films are evaluated properly ..OTT platform yet to understand what is Kollywood ? Server Sundaram officially confirmed that we will release on theaters only .. Good news to all of us especially #serversundaram @iamsanthanam fans #kenanyafilms decided.”

Bankrolled by Kenanya Films and Miracle Movies, Server Sundaram is directed by Anand Balki. Vaibhavi Shandilya of Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu fame, is playing the female lead in this movie, which is touted to be an action-comedy. The cast of this movie includes the legendary Nagesh's grandson Bijesh, Kiran Rathod, Snehan and a whole lot of others. Santhosh Narayanan is scoring the music for this project, which has editing by Dinesh Ponraj and cinematography by R Madhi.
