Shankar - Kamal's 'Indian 2' may release in two parts

We reported that Director Shankar’s magnum opus Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan back in roll after government gave permission for post-production works. Now a new report emerge that the film will come in two parts.

After the directive issued by Tamil Nadu Government, a few big-budget films have started post-production work this week by following some safety protocols. Director Shankar’s mega-budget film, Indian 2, produced by Lyca Productions, has also starting editing work in two different studios although principal photography of the film is yet to be completed. Indian 2 filming was suspended after an accident heppened in February, a crane crashed on the set in EVP film city, Poonamallee, killing three people.

With 60% of the shooting completed Indian 2, the production team is in for a shock due to the six hour lengthy footage available and hence they are mulling the idea for breaking this movie into two parts.

With Kamal and Shankar being perfectionist they didn’t want to leave any stones unturned and are working together to give audience an elaborate story and hence the usual 2.5 hours for the movie may not be sufficient. Hence there are rumours that Indian 2 may be split into two parts. Reported to be the sequel of director Shankar and Kamal Haasan's 1996 blockbuster 'Indian', ‘Indian 2’ has music score by Anirudh and cast includes Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead role. Other casts include Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Siddharth, Manobala and Nedumudi Venu.
