Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput found dead hanging; film industry in shock

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput of 'Chhichhore', 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' and 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy' fame found dead at his apartment in Bandra (West) Mumbai.

The 34 year old actor started his career in Star Plus TV show 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil' and known for his performance in Zee TV's 'Pavitra Rishta'.

Sushant debuted in Bollywood with Kai Po Che in 2013 which earned him several debut awards. In the biopic 'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story' he played as Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni which is still remained one of the highlights of his career. He was last seen in Netflix's original film 'Drive'. His was acting in the Hindi remake of Hollywood hit 'The Fault In Our Stars', which is in post-production now.

ANI reports that Sushant Singh Rajput has died apparently due to hanging but police can tell the exact cause of his death only after receiving post mortem report. "So far, we have not found any suspicious object," says Abhishek Trimukhe, DCP. The actor's body was taken to Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital from his residence. After testing the actor for COVID-19, he has been taken for post mortem.

Though police confirmed the actor has committed suicide, they couldn't find any suicidal note. “Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide, Mumbai Police is investigating,” DCP Pranay Ashok, spokesperson Mumbai Police said.

Media reports that the actor's father Krishna Kumar Singh has worsen and he is not in a position to talk. In his last phone call to his father three days ago, Sushant advised him to not venture outdoors. Rajput's eldest sister arrived by flight later in the day to accompany the father in Mumbai.

When all was going so well for the actor in the industry, we wonder what lead him to take such a drastic decision. The reason for his death is still a big mystery. A good actor gone too soon.
