Malayalam super hit film 'Premam' is one of the best coming of age musical romantic drama, which was released in 2015.

The movie was praised by critics and audiences alike for the performances of the actor, plot, editing, cinematography and music. The songs ‘Malare’, ‘Aluva Puzhayude’, and many others from the movie became favourites in the playlist of music lovers. The film features Nivin Pauly, Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian, and Anupama Parameswaran in lead roles. The movie also introduced as many as 17 debutant actors.

The plot of the film follows the story of George (Nivin Pauly) and his friends from their teen years to adulthood. The movie was a huge success at the box office and it got an amazing response from Tamil audience, theatrical run of more than 250 days in Chennai. Though there were talks about Tamil remake it did not happen.

But what if the movie is ever made in Kollywood? Who will play the lead role? in a recent interview, 'Premam' director Alphonse Putharen has said that he feels Dhanush is the right choice for 'Premam’s' Tamil remake to reprise Nivin Pauly role. Alphonse Putharen senses Dhanush is the right choice for 'Premam’s' Tamil version because he suits lead character to play all the three phases of George. Dhanush is one of few actors in kollywood blessed with a physic who can suits all kinds of looks from a school kid to an elderly man. We all agree with that, aren't we?

It is a coincidence that Dhanush has paired with all three 'Premam' female lead actors Anupama Parameswaran, Madonna Sebastian and Sai Pallavi in the films 'Kodi', 'Pa Paandi' and 'Maari 2' respectively. Alphonse Putharen is yet to direct his next after 'Premam' release five years ago. Recently it was reported that Alphonse Putharen is planning to make a bi-lingual in Malayalam and Tamil language.
