Cinema and TV serial works suspended because government reimposed complete lockdown.
TV Serial producers cancels shoot because of reimposed lockdown
As TN Government has imposed the lockdown in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, and Kanchipuram districts to control the COVID19 pandemic, shops, salons, eateries, travel agencies, and entertainment outfits that had gotten back into business mode, has to shutter down once again.

The announcement of this lockdown comes as a big blow to the small and big screen industry. The shoot of various TV serials have been suspended and the producers have no other option left but to suspend all the post-production works including dubbing, DI, VFX, editing, and sound mixing. Close to 60 small-screen producers will suffer because of this.

"The shoot of a few of our shows had started last week, but now, they will be cancelled. The teams will wrap up their shoots today. The two serials that were supposed to resume regular telecast have been pushed now.", says sources close to Vijay TV

"We had called only artistes and technicians living in Chennai for the shoots of our serials. But we have decided to cancel all shoots for now, and the on-air dates are being pushed as well. Now, we will resume work only after we have clarity from the government.", says source from Zee Tamil.

It was only a few days back, FEFSI (Film Employees Federation of South India) expressed their happiness as the Government permitted to conduct serial shoots but now, the daily wagers have become jobless once again.

The Government also allowed the producers to proceed with the post-production works in the cinema industry as it mostly happens inside the studio or closed atmosphere with a minimum number of workers but due to the lockdown, the producers have to stop all their pending works.
