Actor Ramya Krishnan starrer 'Queen' web-series which released last year received positive reviews is getting renewed for the next season. Ramya Krishnan who played Sakthi Seshadri – a character inspired from former Tamil Nadu CM and veteran actor Jayalalithaa, revealed that the second season is in works.

Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prasath Murugesan, Queen First season was released on MX Player. Queen was written by Reshma Ghatala and starred Ramya Krishnan, Anikha Surendran, and Anjana Jayaprakash in the titular role, apart from Indrajith Sukumaran, Sonia Aggarwal, and Vamsi Krishna.

Gautham Menon earlier confirmed the news recently and said he was working on the script with other writers. It's not known if Prasath Murugesan will be back for season 2. In a recent interview, Ramya said the sequel and revealed that they’re yet to begin shooting. “I am just waiting to get there and be a part of it. People can expect more action, more interesting content, thrilling and exciting content,” she said.

We don’t have clarity on when shooting will start. With the quarantine right now, we are yet to know,” she said, adding: “Last when I spoke to (writer) Reshma, she was done with the script. It’s all ready to go on floors but it all depends on the quarantine phase.

Interestingly, Zee TV has acquired the rights for the web series to telecast in small screen. As the TV serial shoots stopped for a while, Zee Network decides to air the web-series. With Zee Telugu already airing the series from last month, hindi speaking audience can watch the first season of 'Queen' on Zee TV starting from June 6. Tamil version of the series is expected soon on Zee Tamil.
