Jayam Ravi says 'Thani Oruvan 2' has more powerful antagonist

Jayam Ravi's 'Thani Oruvan' was a blockbuster hit from his brother Mohan Raja (Jayam Raja) released on 2015. Jayam Ravi confirmed the sequel to the action thriller last year and said the pre-production will being mid this year.

Now, in a recent interview with a leading magazine, Jayam Ravi said that 'Thani Oruvan 2' will have strong antagonist character which is more powerful than the first part, played by Aravind Swamy.
"My brother Mohan Raja has finished the script work but due to my prior commitments, the project is getting delayed. The antagonist in the sequel of Thani Oruvan will be powerful than the original", said Ravi.

Reports suggest that Mammootty was approached to play the antagonist in the sequel though it was not officially confirmed.

The actor said the film will go on floor only after he completes his committed projects. Jayam Ravi is currently engaged with Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' and Ahmed's 'Jana Gana Mana'.

Jayam Ravi also announced his interest towards direction, said that he is using the lockdown period to write a script for a directorial debut. "My directorial debut will not happen anytime soon but it will happen for sure. Maybe when I turn 40 or 50 but will definitely direct a film", said the actor.

Jayam Ravi was last seen in 2019 hit 'Comali' directed by Pradeep Ranganathan. His 25th film 'Bhoomi' directed by Lakshman after 'Bogan' and 'Romeo Juliet' is ready for release.
