'Kaithi' and 'Maanagaram' fame Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently working on the post-production work of Vijay's 'Master'. 'Master' didn't see the light yet due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

Post 'Master', Lokesh was supposed to make a movie for Kamal Haasan's Raj Kamal Films International in which Superstar Rajinikanth was supposed to play the lead role. It's once again coronavirus to blame that the project is not postponed. Because Rajinikanth is yet to finish the shoot of 'Annaatthe', his film with Lokesh Kanagaraj is likely to begin only in May 2021.

Meanwhile, Lokesh is planning to join with Karthi once again after the blockbuster hit 'Kaithi' to be produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. Sources close to the director say that Lokesh Kanakaraj - Karthi movie will be sequel to 'Kaithi' and the director has completed the screenplay for the film ‘Kaithi 2’ in this coronavirus lockdown.

It is worth to recall, in a media interaction a day after the release of 'Kaithi', Karthi also confirmed that the sequel plan is very much on. “Lokesh has asked for just 30 days of my call sheet to finish Kaithi 2. So, you can expect a sequel from us,” Karthi said.

Also, after the release of Kaithi, seeing the tremendous response, Lokesh took to Twitter to thank audience for the response and hint about the sequel. “Thanks for the overwhelming response guys. Loved every minute in sets and the entire process of making Kaithi. Will cherish this forever! Thank you once again Prabhu sir and Karthi sir for the opportunity! To answer all your texts and calls, yes, Dilli will be back,” Lokesh tweeted.

Karthi is currently working for Mani Ratnam's ‘Ponni Selvan’. He has completed his next movie 'Sulthan', which is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. Sulthan was initially planned as a summer release, but there have been no updates on the movie yet.

If all goes well, after Master hit the screens, the makers will officially announce the shooting once the COVID-19 threat is over.
