PC Sreeram and Gautham Menon unites for Amazon Original series

Gautham Vasudev Menon and veteran lensman PC Sreeram will work together in a web series for Amazon.

Gautham Menon, who keeps hilself busy during this coronavirus lockdown with short film 'Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn' and a music video titled 'Oru Chance Kudu', will be directing a web-series for Amazon Prime Video.

The 'Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya' director had plans to do a detective web-series for a while. There were talks to start the series with Sarath Kumar in lead role. However there was no announcement and source say the plan was dropped.

To our surprise, Veteran cinematographer PC Sreeram confirmed today that he is joining with Gautham Menon for his next project, which will be a web-series. National Award-winning cinematographer announced it in twitter: “My next project after the lock down is over will be with Gautham Menon for a web series. It’s for Amazon . Waiting to start work after a long gap due to this corona. Hope the world will be better place for all of us . @menongautham (sic),

Gautham Menon already have web-series experience through 'Queen', which is streaming on MX Player. Written and directed by Menon, 'Queen' web series is loosly based on the times and struggles of actor and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. However, this is the first engagement for PC Sreeram to work on a web-series.

Reports say, Gautham Menon is giving final touches for script and planning to roll the series once the lockdown is lifted. The cast and crew of this untitled web series will be announced in coming months.

Meanwhile, Gautham opened up on the sequel to his film 'Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya' in an instagram live chat. “This’ll be a story of four friends who meet and decide to go to the US for their fifth friend’s wedding. It’s not a Hangover type movie but it’ll be light-hearted. I’m waiting for a nod from Simbu. If he says let’s do it, I’m ready to go to shoot immediately,” Gautham said.

He also mentioned that he has completed the script of 'Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu 2'. However, he is yet to approach Kamal Haasan, who played the lead role in the prequel. The filmmaker also announced that he was working on a love story with two characters, Kamal and Kadhambari.
