While Thalapathy Vijay's fans were waiting for the release of his new film 'Master' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and costarring Vijay Sethupathi, there were number reports and speculation about his next film to be helmed by AR Murugadoss.

Titled as 'Thalapathy 65' for now, so far, sources close to the team say that only Vijay, Murugadoss, and Thaman are confirmed for the new film, but the team is yet to decide on the female lead and the rest of the cast and crew.

The latest buzz about the film is that the makers are in talk with Rashmika Mandanna of 'Geetha Govindam' fame to play Thalapathy Vijay's pair in the film to be produced by Sun Pictures. Said to be the sequel to the blockbuster hit Thuppakki, it was rumored that Kajal is likely to play the female lead for the film like the original movie.

This is the third time such report have surfaced online about Rashmika teaming up with Vijay. When 'Bigil' was in pre-production, similar reports suggested that Rashmika is in talks with Atlee and crew. Later, Nayanthara was confirmed to be part of Thalapathy 63.

Later, Rashmika was rumored to be part of Vijay's 64th movie 'Master', but it was falsified. This time as well the information has begun to spread. But is this true at all? Will have to wait until the maker announces.

Rashmika once said Thalapathy Vijay is her crush since childhood and in several interviews, Rashmika revealed that she is keen to work with Vijay in her future films.

The actress is yet to make her debut in Tamil, but she commands a huge fan following in Kollywood. She is said to have completed shooting for her Tamil film, 'Sulthan' with Karthi in the main lead role. Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, the film is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. The film is yet to see the lights.

On the other hand there were reports that ‘Premam’ Girl Madonna Sebastian, seen in the Tamil films 'Kavan', 'Pa Pandi', 'Junga' with Vijay Sethupathi and 'Vanam Kottatum' is playing an important role in Thalapathy 65.

An official announcement regarding the project is likely to be made on Vijay's birthday, June 22. Having four more days for the special day, netizens speculate the makers will announce the star cast with Rashmika Mandanna and Madonna Sebastian in the list.
