Sequels are trend of this decade with Kollywood reporting countless number of sequels. Now, Suriya's '24' released on 2015 is going to have a sequel says the director of the film, Vikram Kumar.

'24' is a critically-acclaimed Tamil time-travel thriller featuring Suriya in triple role. Nithya Menon and Samantha played opposite Suriya in the film. Though it did not do the best at business in box-office, the movie received well among the critics and audiences.

In a recent interview on YouTube channel, the 'Yavarum Nalam' director said he is working on the script for the sequel of the film '24'. In the open talk, the director talked about the probability of the sequel to 24.

“Even before the release of 24, Suriya sir and I were thinking about a sequel. However, we didn’t want to make one just for the sake of it. We decided we would make it only when we got the perfect story. I am working on the script now. When I’m satisfied with it, I will pitch it to Suriya sir,” he said.

It was few years ago, Vikram hinted a prequel to the film which would be based on one of Suriya’s evil twin brother Athreya. It was reported that prequel will explain why the brothers, who were born three minutes apart, were at loggerheads in 24.

But with this sequel plan, it is obvious there isn't any prequel for '24'. Vikram withhold from disclosing any further details about the plot of the sequel.

Vikram Kumar's last outing was a Telugu action comedy 'Gang Leader' with Nani in the lead. Suriya is waiting for the release of 'Soorarai Pottru' directed by Sudha Kongara. His other projects include 'Aruvaa' with director Hari, which is touted to be a rural action entertainer and a untitled project with director Vetrimaaran.
