Produced by Sun Pictures, the film will be directed by A.R. Murugadoss, Thaman in his interview to a Telugu television channel has confirmed that he is on board ‘Thalapathy 65’. Already, there were many speculations about what the film could be, whether it would be a sequel of an earlier hit 'Thuppakki' or a brand new script.

Now the latest report is about the leading pair for Vijay. There were many names floating in the social media for the lead pair with Vijay. While names of Pooja Hegde, Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Agarwal, Madonna Sebastian and Samantha were doing the rounds, now we hear that makers have approached Asin Thottumkal to play the female lead.

If reports are to be believed, Thalapathy 65 will be Asin's re-entry into her acting career after her marriage. It also marks fourth collaboration of the super hit pair Vijay - Asin after the blockbuster hits 'Sivakasi', 'Pokkiri' and 'Kaavalan'. Asin is Vijay Fans favourite actress and audience will be excited to see the pair on screen.
Asin and got married to businessman Rahul in January, 2016 and they have a daughter, who was born on Oct 2017. Asin was last seen on-screen on Bollywood movie 'All Is Well' released in 2015.
