Arya's 'Teddy' heading to Amazon Prime Video release
Like many other films opting for direct OTT release due to the coronavirus pandemic, Arya's upcoming fantasy-comedy with director Shakti Soundarajan 'Teddy' is likely to release directly on Amazon Prime Video.

'Teddy' is the first of its kind Tamil film to use an Indian company to entirely design a special animated character and second of its kind Tamil film to use motion-capture technology, to bring a teddy bear to life.

Reports suggest that the makers of films were holding talks with the streaming giant, Prime Video for the last few weeks and they have come to an agreement on the deal. More details about the release plans are expected soon.

'Teddy' was actually supposed to hit the screens last year and the release has been postponed for many reasons. Now, the makers who does not want to hold the release any further, decided to go for a digital release.

Based on the first glimpse of the movie, one can say 'Teddy' is inspired from the Hollywood comedy 'Ted' released in 2012 directed by Seth MacFarlane starring Mark Wahlberg.

'Teddy' features real-life couple Sayyeshaa and Arya in the lead. Sakshi Agarwal, Sathish, and Karunakaran are in the supporting roles. D. Imman composed the music for the film. 'Studio Green' KE Gnanvelraja is bankrolling the project.


Teddy is an upcoming Tamil film written and directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan. Teddy film stars Arya and Sayyeshaa in the lead roles. The film is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green.
