Simran recalls days with Vijay and Sivaji Ganesan

Simran 23 years of Tamil cinema VIP Once More
Actress Simran, the heartthrob of many young adults of mid 90s and 2000s ruled Kollywood for a decade.
The actress has paired opposite almost all of the top lead actors in Tamil film industry like Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Ajith, Suriya and others. But she couldn't pair with Superstar Rajinikanth during her peak acting career. She was part of the initial cast in Superstars blockbuster 'Chandramukhi' to play most applauded Ganga character and even shot some scenes but later Jyothika replaced her. It was reported that Simran was pregnant and not advised to do some heavy energetic stunts that the movie demanded. But her dream came true after years by paring with Rajini in Karthik Subbaraj's 'Petta'.

Simran debuted in Tamil cinema with 'Nerukku Ner' but released after 'VIP' and 'Once More'. Today (4th of July) marking the 23 years of her first Kollywood releases 'VIP' and 'Once More', the actress recalls the days and got emotional on her twitter posts.

She cherished the moments she worked with legendary Sivaji Ganesan and Vijay in 'Once More', called it "Blessing and learning".

"23 years after, the memories of working with the legend #SivajiGanesan sir is so vivid. It was a dream come true and to this day I believe it's the blessing and learning from him that made me who I am," she wrote on Twitter.

In the following tweet, she mentioned she was lucky to start her career with her friend Vijay, Prabhudeva, Abbas and Rambhain Tamil cinema. She also wrote, "Until my last breath, I will be indebted to Tamil and people of Tamil Nadu"

'Once More' is directed by Vijay's father S.A.Chandrasekhar and produced by C.V.Rajendran. This marks the first collaboration of Vijay and Simran with Sivaji Ganesan.

'V.I.P' another blockbuster released on the same day in 1997, has Prabhu Deva, Abbas, Simran and Ramba in the lead roles. The film was directed by Sabapathy Dekshinamurthy. Ranjit Barot composed songs were chartbusters.

Simran's films 'Dhruva Natchathiram' starring Vikram in the lead role and 'Vanangamudi' starring Aravind Swami in the lead role have been delayed for release for a long time.
