Thalapathy 65 change hands from Sun Pictures to Thenandal Films?
After minting the success of 'Bigil', Thalapathy is awaiting release of his upcoming action thriller 'Master'.

Directed by 'Kaithi' fame Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has Vijay Sethupathi playing the main antagonist. Malavika Mohanan and Andrea Jeremiah will be seen playing the leading ladies.

While 'Master' is yet to hit the screens, talks about his unannounced 65th project 'Thalapathy 65' keep coming every now and then. Though there is no official announcement about 'Thalapathy 65', we widely know that Vijay is team up with AR Murugadoss to be produced by Sun Pictures. S Thaman Sai has confirmed to score music for the film which is touted to be an big-budget action thriller. Meanwhile a section of media reported that Sun Pictures has opted out from producing the movie.

Reports say that the production house Sun Pictures has requested the director AR Murugadoss and actor Vijay to slash their remuneration because of the pandemic situation. It claims that, though Murugadoss refused initially, he agreed to reduce his salary. But Vijay was stubborn and did not come with an agreement to reduce his pay, so Sun Pictures has decided to has backed out of the project. Same report claims that Vijay has now approached 'Tenandal Films' and gave 'Thalapathy 65' call-sheet to them with a pay-cut. It was earlier reported that Vijay will join hands with Mersal producer, Thenandal Films after 'Thalapathy 65'.

But, lately we hear that Vijay has reduced his remuneration by about twenty crore from ₹120 crores to ₹100 crores for 'Thalapathy 65' produced by Sun Pictures. Also sources close to 'Thalapathy 65' has denied the news of Sun Pictures been replaced by Thenandal Studios. They say it is a baseless rumour.

'Thapathy 65' is rumoured to be a sequel to AR Murugadoss first collaboration Thalapathy Vijay blockbuster hit, 'Thuppakki'. The director-actor combo have given back to back hattrick success with 'Thuppakki', 'Kaithi' and 'Sarkar'. 'Thalapathy 65' will be fourth collaboration for the duo.
