Recent buzz has it that Vetrimaaran planning to do a film with Vijay. Though there were reports in last couple of years that the duo might join hands for a project, there were no further updates and it was dismissed as just another rumour. However, Vetrimaaran has now confirmed that he is indeed planning to work with Vijay.

It was earlier reported that Vetri met Vijay and narrated his story. Sources close to the actor revealed that the meeting ended on a positive note. Both fans and cinephiles were highly excited as the collaboration sounded exciting. The source adds, “Vijay always loved Vetrimaaran’s films. In fact, he’s a big fan of Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Visaaranai and the latest hit Asuran.". We hear Vijay wants to try and experiment with something different from his usual scripts.

Vijay’s film will begin once the star is free from his other commitments. The director said that he will start works once Vijay is ready. If this project with Vetrimaaran materialises, it will be the first time the actor and filmmaker come together.

As of now, Vetrimaaran is occupied with back to back projects. Post lockdown and other restrictions are over, the director is planning to finish his untitled project with comedy actor Soori, which is produced by Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment. After completing Soori’s film, Vetrimaaran will be helming the Suriya starrer ‘Vaadivasal’. There is another project that Vetrimaaran has committed with RS Infotainment but the lead actor has not yet been finalized. Recently, there were rumours about him reuniting with Dhanush, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
