'Pichaikkaran 2' with first look poster
Vijay Antony released the first-look poster of his upcoming film 'Pichaikkaran 2' on his birthday, July 24th.

The film is directed by National award winning filmmaker Priya Krishnaswamy of 'Baaram' fame. 'Baaram' received overwhelming response from critics and fans which released early this year in February.

As the title of the film implies, it is a sequel to the actor's blockbuster film 'Pichaikkaran' released in 2016. 'Pichaikkaran' was also dubbed in Telugu as 'Bitchagadu' and become a blockbuster in Telugu speaking states.

Vijay Antony announced the sequel, which will also be dubbed in Telugu as 'Bitchagadu 2'. Sharing the first-look posters of Pichaikkaran 2 and Bitchagadu 2, Vijay Antony wrote, "#pichaikkaran2 #Bitchagadu2 (sic)."

Pichaikkaran 2 copied from Thaanaa Serndha Koottam
While many were excited for the film, a couple of social media enthusiasts pointed out that the background crowd on the first-look poster was nothing but the replica from the poster of Suriya’s 2018 action comedy 'Thaanaa Serndha Koottam'. While some said that the poster could have been made by the same agency, few others said that it was a goof up made by the film's team.

Produced by Vijay Antony's own production house named Vijay Antony Pictures, the shooting of the film will start early next year. The makers will announce the cast the crew in coming weeks.

'Pichaikkaran' is about Arul (Vijay Antony) who acts as a homeless for 48 days to fulfil a religious offering to save his dying mother. The award-winning film, directed by Sasi, received positive reviews from the critics and audience. In fact, the film went on to become one of the best commercial films in 2016.
