Selvaraghavan debuts as lead actor with 'Saani Kaayidham'
Director Selvaraghavan is all set to make his acting debut with 'Saani Kaayidham' directed by Arun Matheswaran, who happened to be the dialogue writer of Madhavan's super hit film 'Irudhi Suttru'.

The acclaimed director who gave films like 'Kadhal Konden', 'Pudhupettai', '7/G Rainbow Colony' and 'Aayirathil Oruvan' is making debut as lead actor in the film, which will also star Keerthy Suresh in the lead.

Selva took to his twitter handle to reveal the news along with the first look poster.

The first-look poster is quite intriguing as a cartoonised version of Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh's characters are holding a knife and pistol. Together, they are facing a group of people who are after them.

Keerthy Suresh, in a tweet, said that she is excited to share the screen space with Selvaraghavan. Sharing the first-look poster, she wrote, "I am very happy to join hands with the next happening director @arunmatheswaran and super excited to share the screen space with namma director @selvaraghavan sir! Thank you @Screensceneoffl (sic)."

Touted to be an action drama, the film will be set in the 1980s with Selva and Keerthy playing the lead characters. Arun Matheswaran in an interview with leading daily said initially there was an hesitation but they decided to try their luck by asking Selvaraghavan to play the lead role. When Arun narrated the script, Selva liked it and agreed to play the lead character, the director said.

The film, produced by Seven Screen Studios, will release worldwide in theatres. The shooting will commence once the Tamil Nadu government gives permits film shooting.

On the other hand, Arun Matheswaran is awaiting the release of his directorial debut 'Rocky'. 'Rocky' is an action gangster drama has Taramani fame Vasanth Ravi in the lead role also features voice-over artist Raveena Ravi in the lead role while Bharathiraja and Rohini play supportive roles. Bharathiraja is playing villian after 15 years, after his role in director Mani Ratnam’s 'Aaytha Ezhuthu'.

Director Selvaraghavan has been awaiting the release of his long delayed horror-thriller 'Nenjam Marappathillai' for more than a year. Featuring Regina Cassandra, Nandita Swetha and SJ Suryah in the titular roles, the film is tipped to be a very realistic horror drama.

Selva also has an untitled film with his brother Dhanush, which will be fourth collaboration of the duo, as reports have emerged that the new project which will be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. The film will most likely take off towards the end of this year or early next year.
